Tag Heuer 300 SLR has three sub-dials: the 30 minute counter is located at the 12 o’clock position, the 12 hours chronograph takes the 6 o’clock position (there is a date window inside it), while a nicely designed, and consequently not so functional running seconds sub-dial is at the 9 o’clock position. Similarities with the Carrera continue with the pushers and the size of the case (41 mm case is made of polished stainless steel).
A clear, brushed and polished steel bezel. Instead of covering the bezel, its tachymeter scale is located on the dial’s flange. Furthermore, there is a difference between hour markers which are, in this case, rectangular, hand-applied and coated with luminescent material for greater readability. Finally, 300 SLR Calibre 1887 Limited Edition Automatic Chronograph has a unique caseback, with the engraved image of the iconic Mercedes 300 SLR, driven by Fangio.
